Important (good) news update: despite all the scary things happening in the U.S., Japan has created the only train I ever want to ride again: a Hello Kitty bullet train. West Japan Railway Company unveiled the vehicle, adorned with Hello Kitty inside and out, yesterday in the country's Nakagawa-machi, Fukuoka Prefecture. The Hello Kitty Shinkansen train will travel between Shin-Osaka and Hakata starting on June 30. This is real, guys. Take it in:
There's a Hello Kitty train conductor statue in one of the cars for the only selfie opportunity I'll ever condone. There are Hello Kitty seat covers on every chair.
Every desk and luggage shelf has a happy Hello Kitty on it:
Wonderful things can and do still happen.
