Last week saw the rather chilling release of posters and teasers for American Horror Story: Cult, the seventh season of the Ryan Murphy smash sensation. If you're a super stan and social media stalker, you've probably already gleaned lots of little details. Lena Dunham and Emma Roberts are in. Lady Gaga—who starred in the two previous seasons—is out. Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters, in; Jessica Lange, out.
But official announcements from the AHS powers that be are fewer and farther between than social media breadcrumbs, and today we got a major dose of the former with the release of five official cast posters. Surprising: No bees, clown close-ups, or American flags (the season purportedly will address the 2016 election) in sight. Not surprising: Knives, shadows, and lurking mystery all feature heavily.
Alison Pill as Ivy Mayfair-Richards
The newcomer is poised in a meat locker, knife in hand. Lurking behind the plastic door? A creepy AF, frizzy-headed clown that makes you glad she's got that knife.
Billie Lourd as Winter Anderson
A real clown lurks under her bed, a stuffed one chills atop of her comforter. Very normal, very cool. The Scream Queens star but AHS freshman is also curiously dressed, in old-timey spook clothes.
Billy Eichner as Harrison Wilton
Varsity jacket: very reminiscent of Kyle Spencer (Evan Peters) in Coven. Disembodied clown head? Decidedly more terrifying than approaching strangers on the streets of New York City, depending on who you're asking.
Cheyenne Jackson as Dr. Rudy Vincent
In his third season of AHS, Jackson will play a doctor. Non-spoiler alert: Doctors don't tend to be the good guys in this universe.
Colton Haynes as Detective Samuels
Another Scream Queens alum. Platinum white hair's agreeing with him just fine.
