The Cast of 'The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story' and Their Real-Life Counterparts

Donatella might be the person most younger viewers associate with the Versace label. She took over the label after her older brother, Gianni's death and will be played by Oscar-winner Cruz.

You might recognize Ramírez from Joy, costarring Jennifer Lawrence, or Zero Dark Thirty, costarring Jessica Chastain. The Venezuela-born actor will play renowned fashion designer Gianni Versace. The designer was murdered outside his Miami Beach home in 1997 and his murder is the focus of the season.

Glee alum Criss will play Andrew Cunanan, the man who murdered Versace.

Versace wasn't Cunanan's only victim; he killed at least four other people and committed suicide eight days after murdering the designer.

Martin will play Versace's partner, Antonio D'Amico. The couple met in 1982 and were together until Versace's death in 1997. D'Amico has already been critical of American Crime Story's take on his late partner's death.

After seeing paparazzi photos of Martin holding Ramírez's body, he told The Guardian, "The picture of Ricky Martin holding the body in his arms is ridiculous. Maybe it’s the director’s poetic license, but that is not how I reacted."

Farrell, best known for his role on M*A*S*H, plays Lee Miglin, one of Cunanan's other victims. Miglin was a prominent Chicago businessman and, after his body was found, Cunanan was added to the FBI's 10 Most Wanted List.

Gianni and Donatella's older brother, Santo, went to Miami Beach after news of Gianni's murder broke. He served as co-CEO of the label until 2004.
