Update, 9/23: The Gigi-Joe romance just got a meet-cute back story. Apparently seven years ago, Joe first asked Gigi to hang: "We met at the Grammys when I was 13 years old," Hadid said during a Periscope Q&A. "And he asked me to a baseball game, and I said, 'No.' I was so nervous; I literally didn't even know what it meant to hang out with a boy. And also, Grammys are on a Sunday, and I didn't want to tell him that I had school the next day, so I was like, 'No, maybe next time.'"
The 19-year-old gave her his number though: "[He] wrote it on a piece of paper and gave it to my mom. And then we've been friends ever since. Except now. We're more than friends, obvs." Ah, timing really is everything!
Update, 7/22: Gigi Hadid and Joe Jonas have officially endorsed their "G.I. Joe" couple status, with Gigi proudly wearing her part of the nickname out:

Joe Jonas and Gigi Hadid are dating, and as is now just about traditional for cool, young celebrity couples, they need a cutesy nickname. Courtesy of Cara Delevingne, who just shared the above Instagram snap of them sharing a helicopter ride together, that nickname is G.I. Joe. At least unless/until you can come up with a better one?! (And no, JoGi doesn't cut it because that looks more like a chemical compound.)
Also, holy moly, Joe Jonas's white fur coat. That's a lot of look, Joe.
