Who says you need to wait to celebrate? Last night, Chanel hosted a pre-Oscar dinner with author Charles Finch at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills, the fashion house’s 16th annual celebration of the major award ceremony. For the uninitiated, the event highlights the longstanding connection between Chanel and the world of cinema, harkening back to founder Gabrielle Chanel’s legacy and interest in the art form. The brand has continued its ongoing partnership with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences by supporting the Academy Museum’s Family Matinee screenings, which are free to the public for the month of March in Los Angeles.
It goes without saying that the Academy Awards has brought some of Hollywood’s brightest talent to the city this month, so, naturally, the evening was star-studded. Lily-Rose Depp, Lupita Nyong’o, Riley Keough, Al Pacino, Ava DuVernay, Colman Domingo, Dakota Fanning, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Demi Moore, Elle Fanning, Felicity Jones, Jeremy Strong, Kim Kardashian, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Keaton, Olivia Munn, Olivia Wilde, Questlove, Ralph Fiennes, Denis Villeneuve, and many more were in attendance.
