It’s official—Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are engaged. On August 26, the couple announced the news with an Instagram post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote alongside photos of her and Kelce in a garden.
In one shot, she showed off her custom Artifex Fine Jewelry engagement ring, a large diamond set in an intricate gold band.
Ann Grimmett, the Vice President of Merchandising at Jared Jewelers, broke down some of the ring details. “Taylor Swift’s ring has an heirloom look that is both romantic and dreamy,” she said. “It’s traditional with a modern flair. The center stone appears to be a bezel set 7 to 9 carats elongated old mine cushion cut, set in 18k yellow gold. The side stones look to be a half-moon plus a small round, which contributes to its more vintage look.”
She also estimates that the ring would cost approximately $250,000-500,000. And Grimmett notes that it’s trendy, too: “bold gold looks, fancy cuts, and oversized elongated stones.”
The engagement announcement comes after a source told Entertainment Tonight over a year ago—on May 17, 2024—that the couple’s inner circle saw a proposal coming. At the time, the insider said, “Taylor and Travis are doing amazing, and their loved ones see an engagement coming sooner than later. They make a great match and there’s no question about that.”
