Shortly after a source told Us Weekly that Sydney Sweeney and her fiancé, Jonathan Davino, had called off their wedding, the Euphoria actress shared new photos of herself posing in a vintage Christian Dior by John Galliano minidress. Her engagement ring was notably absent in the Instagram shots taken by her friend Amber Asaly. See the photos here.

Sweeney has been posting photos all week from her girls’ trip to Tanzania. She last shared a shot of her floating in a pool while wearing a bikini, also taken by Asaly.

She has not commented on her relationship. Another source did, however. An insider told People on Thursday that Sweeney and her 41-year-old partner, whom she has dated for over seven years, have had issues for a while. “Things have been rocky for a long time,” the source said.

On Wednesday, a source told Us Weekly that Davino and Sweeney were still together: “Sydney and Jonathan have been having major issues but are not fully split,” the insider said. “Things are not great right now, but they aren’t throwing in the towel yet. They are working on their relationship.”

One thing that is canceled for sure is their nuptials, the source said: “They were supposed to get married this spring. The wedding is not happening, and they aren’t having further discussions about it. Sydney wanted to cancel everything and couldn’t handle the stress.”

A second source said they went through “a rough patch” in March 2024 due to her “jam-packed filming schedule.” They were long-distance at that time, and the extended time apart “was hard for Jonathan to deal with because he can’t be everywhere with her. They made some compromises at the time and worked through it.”

Sweeney has five upcoming projects listed on her IMDb alone, including Euphoria’s next season. The 27-year-old actress “doesn’t have a lot of downtime, and it causes tension in their relationship,” the first Us Weekly source said. “Sydney is really focused on her career.”

Sweeney hasn’t spoken much about her relationship with Davino. She told Glamour UK in December 2023 that she prefers to keep that part of her life private: “Everyone is always so curious about who I’m with and what’s that like, but I think it’s important to have something for me. I’m very open [otherwise]. I talk about so much, and sometimes, it gets me in trouble, but I do try to keep something for me.”
