On Friday, Blake Lively joined Anna Kendrick in Austin, Texas, for the premiere of Another Simple Favor at the 2025 SXSW Film & TV Festival. The two stars have finally reunited with director Paul Feig for the hotly anticipated sequel to 2018’s A Simple Favor.
For the red carpet, Lively wore a latex two-piece by Renée Massoomian, which had a vintage flair. The dress itself was strapless, in a pale pink shade with a corset-style bodice that hooked in front and an ankle-length skirt, bordered in a black lace pattern. It was cinched at the waist with a narrow black belt. On her feet were a pair of open-toe heels in black with an ankle strap and fabric flowers. The It Ends With Us actress also wore several large rings for accessories.
As she arrived, Lively covered the dress in a matching vinyl cardigan in a slightly more vibrant pink, with short sleeves, which then fell into a second skirt. She wore her hair partly up with pin curls for even more of a classic look.
Kendrick wore a very different all-black ensemble, but with a similar plunging bodice, connecting with a pair of black pants by designer LaQuan Smith. The hem of her pants covered her platform shoes, brushing the floor. The Pitch Perfect star wore the sleeveless look with several statement necklaces and left her hair down in gentle waves.
Another Simple Favor follows Lively and Kendrick’s original characters, Emily and Stephanie, after the former is finally released from prison following her many crimes in the original film. She invites Stephanie to Capri, Italy, where she’s getting married and expecting her naive friend to step up as the maid of honor. Other cast includes Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Elizabeth Perkins, Michele Morrone, Alex Newell, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney. The film will arrive on Prime Video May 1.
