Anya Taylor-Joy skipped the 2025 Oscars, despite the fact that her project, Dune: Part Two, had a Best Picture nod. It’s worth noting that the actress has a very small role in the film, so it makes sense that she opted to stay home for this year’s ceremony. She also skipped the Vanity Fair Oscar Party later that night, despite attending last year.

In fact, Taylor-Joy has only attended one 2025 awards show this season: the Golden Globes, where she wore a pink archival Dior dress.

The star has been busy promoting Apple TV+’s The Gorge alongside her co-star Miles Teller. She also just began production on the upcoming limited series Lucky for the streamer.

Last May, Taylor-Joy spoke to ELLE about Dune: Part Two and what the role means for her career. “I try not to get too caught up in the rest of it,” she said of navigating life in the spotlight. “I just want to be able to do the thing that I love. And I hope that the purity of that love shines through.”

She did admit that she has been working constantly for the better part of a decade. “I woke up and realized I had not taken a break in 10 years,” Tayl0r-Joy said. “I’ve always been somebody who wants to take care of other people before taking care of myself. I have always been sick, and working, or exhausted at dinner. I was like, I need to figure out what I do for fun.”

Ultimately, she took some time for herself, and one part of her life that flourished off- camera was her relationship with husband Malcolm McRae. The two eloped in April 2022.

“We’re just real romantics,” Taylor-Joy said. “We were born on the same day. And we wanted to make sure that our first [wedding] experience was something that was completely for us. So we eloped in New Orleans with our two best friends and had the time of our lives. It was magical. But I’m lucky to say that the second experience—with all of our families [in September 2023]—was so beyond beautiful, and I just feel very, very lucky.”
