The Bear’s onscreen and offscreen couple, Jeremy Allen White and Molly Gordon, chose not to make their red carpet debut at tonight’s SAG Awards.
White posed on his own, while Gordon skipped the ceremony. Her decision to skip the ceremony makes sense; while The Bear’s cast was nominated for a SAG, she was not included in the list of actors recognized, as she has a smaller role in the series.
For his part, White is nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series tonight. He and his co-stars Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Matty Matheson, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Ricky Staffieri share the nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series.
White and Gordon were first romantically linked in September. They were last photographed in November spending Thanksgiving together.
Gordon has been effusive in her praise of White’s talent as an actor for years. In July 2023, she called White “one of the best actors of our generation,” during an interview with Shondaland. She added of herself joining the cast of The Bear, “That they would allow this loser to join him and everyone else who is so brilliant on that show…literally, I would’ve played a dishrag. So, the fact that they allowed me to look at Jeremy is…I’m forever grateful.”
A month before, White complimented Gordon’s “amazing job” playing Claire on The Bear opposite his Carmy. “She’s so disarming and funny and charming,” he told Variety. “I think it didn’t allow Carmy to build up his his regular walls. She knocked them down with ease and allowed Carmy to feel cared for, which must have just been so welcomed because I don’t know the last time Carmy would have allowed himself to be cared for.”
