Ryan Reynolds’s Deadpool & Wolverine is nominated for Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture at tonight’s SAG Awards. But despite the nod, Reynolds and his wife, Blake Lively, chose to skip the awards show. The couple has not attended any ceremonies this season.

Reynolds and Lively skipped the Golden Globes earlier this year, which Reynolds had chosen to do quite some time before the ceremony. Deadline learned the decision had nothing to do with Lively’s lawsuit against her It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni, which has been making headlines for months now.

Reynolds shared a selfie of the couple earlier this month, enjoying a date night.

On Friday, a source told Entertainment Tonight that the lawsuit has marked “a difficult situation for them as a couple and their family, but [Reynolds] has been doing his best to be there for Blake.”

In December, Andrew Garfield asked Reynolds about the future of the Deadpool franchise during their Variety Actors on Actors interview. Reynolds wasn’t quite sure what’s next for his famous superhero.

“Honestly, my feeling is that the character works very well in two ways,” he said. “One is scarcity and surprise. So it had been six years since the last one, and part of the reason is that it swallows my whole life. I have four kids, and I don’t ever want to be an absentee [dad]. I kind of die inside when I see their faces and they do a sports thing or something and I missed it. I don’t know what the future of Deadpool will be, but I do know that we made the movie to be a complete experience instead of a commercial for another one.”
