On Tuesday, it was revealed that Jennifer Lopez filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court from Ben Affleck. The pair celebrated their marriage two years ago on Affleck’s Georgia estate. The date of their official separation is listed as April 26, 2024, in the divorce filing.

A source speaking with Page Six indicated that the entire family is ready to move on, including the couple’s kids: Affleck shares his three children, Seraphina, Violet, and Samuel, with his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Lopez has two children, Max and Emme, with her ex-husband Marc Anthony.

“His kids are taking it fine, as are hers,” said the insider. “Everybody is ready to move on.”

Another source speaking with People suggested that Lopez was the person to file, because she was supposedly “done waiting.”

They added, “She tried really hard to make things work and is heartbroken. The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

A second insider agreed that Lopez is ready to “move on” from Affleck, saying, “She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any signs that he wants to continue their marriage.”

The pair have been facing rumors of their split all summer and spent much of the last three months on opposite coasts. Page Six noted that photos from the April date of their separation show Lopez was in New York City at the time.

Affleck was on the west coast and moved out of their shared mansion into a rental before closing on a new $20.5 million Los Angeles home, People reported at the time.

They did see one another fairly recently during Affleck’s 52nd birthday celebration. He had a “small birthday celebration at home” with his kids, according to a source, and both Garner and Lopez attended.

“It’s exactly what he wanted. He didn’t want to go out to celebrate. The kids had gifts for him, and it was cute,” said the insider. “Jennifer stopped by to congratulate him.”
