In her new ELLE cover story, Blackpink’s Lisa gave Taylor Swift her flowers. The star saw Swift perform on the Eras Tour earlier this year and noted, “She’s incredible!” Lisa then added, “Singing alone on a stage for three and a half hours is crazy...I maybe could do it with a lot of practice.”
Back in March, Lisa went to the tour in Singapore and shared an Instagram carousel of her experience. She applauded Swift in her caption, writing, “Had such a blast at The Eras Tour! Amazing performance💘 @taylorswift.” The two pop icons met backstage and posed together for good measure:
Lisa also spoke to ELLE about the big industry feat she accomplished: She will now own her future master recordings through her Lloud record label. “I don’t think it’s easy for anyone to be able to get that,” Lisa said, acknowledging the challenges she and other artists like Swift have gone through to gain ownership of their music. “It feels like a dream. I’m not sure if it’s real or not.”
She also confirmed to ELLE that while the Blackpink members have all released solo projects, they will also remain a group. “Of course we’re continuing, for sure,” she said. “We’re so proud of Blackpink, and I love Blackpink. It is not just because of our fans, it’s for ourselves.” She added in Korean, “There was no doubt. This is our life.”
Lisa and her bandmates—Jennie, Jisoo, and Rosé—just celebrated the eighth anniversary of their debut. Lisa doubled down on her commitment to continue with the group, sharing on her Instagram, “Cheers to many more years together ♾️”
Rosé called the three her “sisters,” confirming they are basically family at this point. She wrote on Instagram, “Happy 8 years @blackpinkofficial. 🥹🥹🥹 Thank you girlies for being my best sisters throughout all of this. I’m so so proud of us. Love you all tremendously. Happy 8 years blackpink. I can’t wait to live laugh and grow with you all. Lysm.. 🥺🩷🩷”
