Batman actor Robert Pattinson and Daisy Jones & the Six actress and musician Suki Waterhouse were all big grins and affectionate canoodling as they made their Met Gala debut as a couple on tonight’s red carpet. It’s almost like they’re in love or something! They matched—but not, y’know, too much—in sheer taupe and navy, with Waterhouse’s transparent floral Fendi gown complemented by Pattinson’s brooch-adorned Dior Men suit. Waterhouse then further matched her eyeshadow to the embroidered pink-and-green roses of her bodice. (Thankfully, someone remembered there’s room for beauty creativity on fashion’s biggest night.)
The couple, who have been together since the summer of 2018, currently share a home in London. Despite the demands of their separate acting careers, according to Waterhouse herself, they’re rarely apart for longer than a few days at a time. As she told The Times of London in February, “I had two days off the other day, and it was like, no question I’m going back to see him. Then he’ll come out for a couple of days.” She added, “I’m shocked that I’m so happy with someone for nearly five years.”
Still, don’t expect the two to star in a future Batman spin-off together: They seem a bit more comfortable with rehearsals at home. “Rob definitely isn’t getting advice from me about acting, but of course I’ll try and get him to help me with an audition before he falls asleep on the sofa,” Waterhouse told The Times. Maybe for the next film, she can give him a hand with his eyeshadow.
