The options are endless. When it comes to a new cut, some color changes, or even just throwing your hair into an upgraded ponytail, models on the runway are giving us plenty of options. We're currently in the midst of summer, but it's time to look to the future. 2022 is already halfway done, and we're leaving some trends behind, and starting anew. Gigi and Bella Hadid made waves for their half-buzzed heads on the Marc Jacobs Fall 2022 runways, courtesy of hairstylist Duffy. In juxtaposition with the models' simple, laid-back looks, the hair–or lack thereof–definitely made a statement, along with their invisible brows. According to hairstylist Rita Hazan, who works with legends like Beyoncé, punk hair is going to be seen on more than just runways. Her prediction? "More rock and roll hair. Like more of a rock and roll kind of hair where it’s like, a little messy but still done."

Warm and Rich
Colder weather calls for warmer hair, according to Hazan. On the runways, naturally red models are showing off their fiery locks, and it seems that some models have taken the plunge alongside them, trading in blonde and brunette strands for something warmer. "We’re going to see a lot of warm tones," says Hazan. "I think it’s going to be warmer tones, richer tones, like caramels and reddish tones, warm auburns."

'90s Hair
Big bouncy blowouts, sleek-straight hair, or piecey highlights that looks self-inflicted–the '90s are back."I think that people loved the '90s because it’s different than what has been. It's a little bit edgier than what has been," says Hazan. What's to blame for this revamp? "I think it's because it's so different and a little bit harder and edgier than what the soft, surfer girl look is."

Chocolate Brown
Natural brunettes have a head start when it comes to mimicking this season's latest trend. "The biggest hair trend is going to be a nice chocolatey brown with subtle highlights," says Hazan. Adding dimension is essential, either by accentuating the hair's natural texture or through highlights. The best part of this look is that it can be worn at any length, with any texture.

Icy Knot Bun
At LaQuan Smith, slicked-back "icy knot" buns paired perfectly with the designer's ultra-sultry designs. "I wanted the hair to complement the glamour that we know and love from LaQuan Smith. We kept it bold, sleek, and frozen in place, without a single strand out of place," said Lacy Redway, celebrity hair artist and Unilever global stylist. Using TRESemmé TRES TWO Mega Control Gel to smooth the hair back, Redway reinforced the hair with TRESemmé TRES TWO Freeze Hold Hair Spray.

Moroccanoil artistic director Kevin Hughes wanted to leave the spotlight on the Bronx and Banco collection, so he chose high-shine low ponytails that accentuated the look rather than take away from it.

To create flowing beach wave ponytails, Wella Professionals ambassador Briana Cisneros pulled the hair back into a bun, then fastened an exaggerated wavy ponytail extension onto the bun to fall down the models' backs. To keep the delicate waves in place, Cisneros sprayed the hairpiece with Wella Professionals EIMI Stay Firm and added shine with the EIMI Glam Mist.
